Ok, so as you know, flist, this was my first time seeing all of these bands except for the CAB. Like most of my recaps have been, lol, this has lots of things left out or forgotten, I'm sure! I have a ton of crappy photos, but to avoid killing your comps, I'm gonna do my normal thing and only post my favorites; if you want to see the rest, go here:
http://s34.photobucket.com/albums/d103/lunar_scythe/bandom/rockband%20live%20san%20jose/

my photobucket is public. :) If anyone wants to use these for anything, well, credit is nice, but I'm not gonna fuss about it. :) lol, my pics aren't quality or anything, so who cares! lol, some of them I'm not sure anyone would want to claim they took!
Also, hi everyone!! Whether I met you in line, at the show, or after, I had a blast hanging out with you, even if I forgot your name!(cough*everyone*cough)

OK, so, I got into San Jose about 11 am, and headed straight for the venue, about 1.5-2 miles away. :) It was a nice walk, not too hot, and no big rush, either. :) When I got there, I was glad to see I *wasn't* the first, or even the tenth, person there! \o/ I didn't want to seem like a scary creepy person, lol; but when your train gets there that early, and you don't know the area, what else are you gonna do, lol?

There were already about 30 people there, and everyone was really cool; no pushing forward, or crowding, just lots of 'hold my spot' and 'sure' and sitting around yakking and stuff. Free pizza from the San Luis Obispo Stae was a big plus, lol; there were lots of random college kids there from out of the area, I guess they were doing something? Anyway, the one group came over and was all' we got too much pizza, you guys want this? We're just gonna toss it..."
Other random things that happened in line:
attempted to help make beaded friendship bracelets(did not work)
Someone actually knew who Bidwell was \o/ and they knew(vaguely) who Peech was, too! \o/\o/\o/ Peech may be more my roommates' type of music then mine, but still. I actually know them, and slept in their living room and laughed at them when they were high!
Someone had a pair of jeans they were getting random Twilight fans to sign.

Felt slightly bad for both Dashboard Confessional and Plain White T's, very few people had heard of them; in fact, various members of both were wandering around, and only a couple of people even said hi or asked for pics, or anything; yet when Ian and Singer came out for a few minutes, they got swarmed!(when you're the co-headliner, like Dashboard, and the opening band gets more attention then you do, that has to be a little weird...for BOTH of you! tbh, it made me think of that story Zach told about someone noticing HIM and not the Brendon beside him when they were in NY; he mentioned it when he was talking to us in line, but thanks to you, flist, I already knew about it!)
[livejournal.com profile] firedragon9 I saw you, but you didn't see me; and I couldn't get out to say hi cause they had us fenced in! I was toward the front, in front of that bench and the trees. I recognized your shirt, lol!
When Zack came out, he had a couple of hoodies someone had given him(promos or something?) They'd given him a XL, and a Medium(I think it's safe to say they wanted Brendon to have that one, lol.) Zack ended up giving it away when he was talking to people in line, and one of my internet roomies(HI ROOMIES!!!) got it. :)
Many many many people I talked to were hitting the show tonight in Sacramento, also; and several had hit LA the night before, too. *sigh* I wish my checkbook could have handled that! Oh well, next time. currently I'm trying to talk myself OUT of going to see Cobra next weekend, lol!

One of the girls I was with in line was asking Zack about the meet & greet for tonight, cause she's one of the few members who didn't get meet and greet for it, and he'd said he *might* let her in. :)
I can see why Zack has a fan-following, lol; he's a cool guy. I think he looks at the fans, and the band, all as little children, to be humored, but he has to be firm or they (and we) will run wild. :) Which, well, he's right about, lol. But, just like that favorite teacher, he's cool about it in a way that makes you want to do what you should, and makes you want to his approval.

This is gonna be incredibly long and rambley; it already is, and we aren't even IN the venue at this point, lol, so I think it's time to skip forward some. here's a few pics from in line:
the view from where I was sitting, looking toward the front of the line; you can see Zack talking with people up there, he was trying to get the meet and greet people together by that tree:

two of the girls I was hanging with, but what I'm really taking a pic of is some of the guys from Dashboard & Plain White T's, peeking around the corner, lol:

Singer and Ian are over there; this was before most of the crowd spotted them; by this time, the line was starting to become, well, more of a line and less a bunch of people hanging out, we'd moved forward to where the line curved at the front:

When they opened the gates, lol, everyone started running/jogging, whatever; it was kind of scary cause this venue had a lot of stairs, first up, to where they took your ticket, then down, to the floor, if you were after barrier or the pit(which, well, have I ever been anywhere else?) I ended up in the second/third row back, in that same spot as every other show so far. From now on, I'm just gonna call my spot, what are the odds of watching this many shows from the same spot, lol? I've never been anywhere else for a show!

It was crowed up there even BEFORE anyone was on stage. like, really really crowded, worse than at warped for Cobra Starship, GCH or TAI... kind of crowded, here's a crowd/camwhore shot that I sent to my room mate:

The CAB were good, but had trouble with their sound; it was really bad at first, you couldn't even hear Singer at all! It got better throughout the show, though! I know they played Bounce, Risky Business, That 70's Song, and I'm pretty sure they played Vegas Skys. I know they played more songs than that, lol, but I can't name them off the top of my head! At one point, Singer jumped off the stage and wandered back and forth in front of the barrier. I took several pics of them, here's some of the better ones, there's about 40 in all of them in my photobucket, lol:

I think this next one of singer was the best pic I got all night, lol! I'm gonna have to start taking an actual camera with me, the delay on my phone makes for some interesting effect shots, but not so good for actual, like, pictures!

After the CAB, I'm beginning to get a little nervous of what it'll be like up front when Panic are actually performing. It's already as bad as it was just before MCR went on stage in April, and there's still 2 more bands to go through before Panic is up!

At this point, two or three people on this side push up front to have security get them out of there. i'm starting to be moved slightly more toward the center, too. I'm not going back, just over, so I'm not gonna fuss, lol.
Plain White T's are next, but I only took a few pics of them, same with Dashboard. I didn't know any of their stuff, lol; but it was good, and I'm gonna get their cds on payday. Brendon didn't come out during the Weezer cover, instead, Ian and Singer did! At one point in here, security handed out some water bottles; everyone was taking a drink then passing the bottle back for someone else, whether they knew them or not, after all, when you've got someones ass against your crotch, and someone else's crotch against your ass, so you're all practically grinding against each other, who cares about swapping a little spit, right?

I got a big surprise with one of the rock band groups; the second to last ones were from Denair; all of a 10 minute drive from home(and also, where I was getting off the train at!)

Next, Panic. I was going to send another crowd/camwhore pic to megan, but I couldn't get my phone turned around and high enough out of the crowd to do so. I spent part of this time actually leaning back to try not to crush the people in front of me, and part of it with my head resting on the person in front of me's back, trying to breathe. One girl behind me thought she was gonna faint, but she didn't, happily!
At this point, I was basically right in front of Ryan, and Spencer's riser.:) Ryan looked like he was enjoying himself; he kept smiling, he even grinned a few times, lol! He did a lot more of the talking then I'd expected, too. Ryan took off his jacket about halfway through, which made people go nuts, of course.
I know they opened with Starving, and they also played Mad as Rabbits, I Write Sins, 9 in the Afternoon, But it's Better if you do, Martyrdom and Sucide, Time to Dance, Estaban, and When the day met the Night. I think some of theolder ones of these they just did a mashup with parts of them, and I think they played Do you know What I'm seeing, but I'm not sure? And of course, they did the cover of Shout, which was abslutley wonderful! They had a lot of fun playing that one, you could tell; they were moving all over the place! Jon came over to play with Ryan some, Brendon I don't think he stood still at ALL for this song, Ryan wandered back and forth some, too.

I really like this next one, something about it just calls to me, even though you can't really tell that that's Brendon pressed so close behind Ryan, there.

I only got a few pics of Panic, and those 2 are the best ones. my phone was nearly dead, and I was trying to save it since I had yet to find my group for the hotel. :)

I'm gonna do a separate post later about after-concert shenanigans, the merch I got, and so on, because this is getting very long, lol, but for now, let me just say (again!) it was a blast!
