We discovered if you put in "The EXIT, Fresno, CA" into googlemaps, it will get you lost in a residential area, about 2 miles in the opposite direction from where you should be. Seriously, it was telling us the EXIT was right in the middle of this block of homes. /o\ Then, no one knew what we were talking about when we stopped to ask for directions! Thankfully, googlemaps mobile could find it, once we had an actual ADDRESS to put in it, lol!
We'd left pretty early, and even with us getting lost, we were still there about 5:20; the 5th and 6th in line, lol. in fact, I should say HI NEW FRIEND!!! We were talking in line right up until they opened the gate at 6:30(the show started at 7, not 6!)Mostly about how she went to school with the CABbabies, and how she can't read CAB slash, because it's too weird when you actually *know* the people!
We got stage left(of course, lol!) front row! \o/\o/\o/Right against the stage, actually, there was no barrier. The venue was really tiny, and there were 3 rooms. One had the merch, one has the stage, and the third is where the bands where at till their turns came. In fact, if you've seen the MCR NJ show on the BPID dvd? that place was bigger then the EXIT, lol.We had crotch views all night, and Megan twas pretty embarrassed when she figured that out!
I spent most of Hey Monday's set watching the head of the guitar; it was inches from my face for most of their set, and he kept moving around, so I was a little distracted from the music, lol. Megan spent most of it dodging the bassist's foot, he kept kicking, and again, just inches from her face, so she was distracted, too. I guess they were ok? I wasn't horrified by them, but I can't remember any of their set, either. I do know Megan and I each grabbed their setlist when they were done.
Charlotte Sometimes was a surprise; they weren't supposed to be playing tonight! I only knew one of their songs, but they were pretty good. Again, I can't remember much of it, lol. Megan had to duck out for a while during this set it was just way too hot, and some little fangirls took her place. They were very annoying, squeeling over the bands, yet being so rude as to SIT on the edge of the stage and dig through their purse, DURING the set!! They weren't even after the barrier for the CAB, lol; they left before the CAB came on.
A Rocket to the Moon was good, I got their cd; they were also selling their own merch, so you could get everything autographed, lol.
This Providance was good; they joked around with people, complained with us about how hot it was in there, and so on. One funny thing they did was instead of using towels to wipe sweat off? They were using a handful of their own merch shirts, turned inside out, lol. Then at the end of the set, they tossed them to the crowd; Megan got one, she was just coming back at the end of their set, just as the fangirls were wandering off, so she claimed her spot back, lol.
Then it was the CAB. Alex DeLeon and Ian were the only ones who came out; they were doing an acoustic set. they played 5 or 6 of their songs, and 2 covers; The Best Song Ever, from Tenatious D, lol, Ian wanted to do that one; and then a love song, I forget who by. For at least the last half of the set, the other Alexes and Cash were watching from the back of the room, lol. A bunch of people left early, so by the end, there were maybe 40 or 50 people? We wanted to try to gdet pics with them, but security was hustling everyone out of that room, so we didn't get a chance to.
I came home with the 'stop asking, keep dancing' shirt, the whisper warrior bracelet, a rocket to the moon poster, cd and stickers, and the Hey Monday setlist. I could have gotten the poster and the setlist signed, but I just wanted to get out of there by then, lol, I was SO sweaty and hot!
