OK, flist, why isn't anyone talking about this? Is someone just jerking us around, or are they actually playing without Frank for these, cause Leathermouth's in California and Arizona for those dates? If it's real, well, someone FAILS at taking breaks, lol! Bored already? 6 months into a break that's supposed to last 'at least a year?' Also, talk about last minute notice!

Huh, for normal bands, a year long break means like...a three year long break.

yep! these guys, they're such workaholics! Too bad it's at the other end of the country from me, lol.

I basically got sick of MCR after liking them for a spell freshman year, so I'm not exactly crying over the far-away. But I still really appreciate their attitude towards their fans...

lol, I'm very late to bandom. :) I first started listening to them this year, so they're still semi-fresh to me. :) Plus, as the first concert I went to, they'll always hold a kind of special spot in my head....
:)
They just come across as so *earnest* and *flaily* little geeks, too!

What I really like is that Gerard encourages fans to be non-violent at shows, while a lot of musicians encourage the opposite. My first shows were all aging classic rockers my parents took me to see...

heh, yeah. :) and the whole 'no groupies' thing is really cool, too! The idea of a band actually telling girls they deserve more respect then being asked to flash the bands.....

Groupies are pretty much out, though, so that's not such a revelation. Image has always been a part of music, from the rock n' roll lotharios of the olden days to the "i don't give a damn about my image" image in punk rock. Right now people want their mainstream musicians likable and nice to the fans, and taking advantage of the admiration of your female fans does not figure into that image...

yeah, I get that, there was that thing that MCR talked about on the Life on the Murder Scene DVD, though; some band on Warped with them was telling girls to flash a video camera for backstage passes, and telling them that the tape was gonna be shown to MCR.

Gerard found out about it, and he basically told the audience that night that the band sucked and people should tell them to f*ck off if they came up and tried to ask them to do that.

also, lol, someone needs to tell some of the Panic fans that groupies are out; I've heard some real horror stories about them, things like trying to rufie Brendon, cookies with someone's pubic hair being given to them, asking Ryan to hold a slash-related(Ryden exists!) sign for a pic and posting it after being asked not to, and so on. I mean, I'm sure this is a a small group that does this kind of crap, but, yeah. Poor guys!

Course, this kind of thing has probably happened to other bandom bands, I'm just too late getting into bandom to hear about most of it!

Fans do a lot of shitty, stalker-ish things, and it's like that with all bands, pretty much. Not quite as bad as some of the Panic stuff, just by virtue of them being so huge while being pretty, but a lot of shitty stuff happens. It's small minorities doing that sort of shit, but they piss me off a lot.

The most stalker-like thing I've ever done was climb over a fence...But that was just a very small group of us who waited very patiently to meet Jesse Lacey, and there happened to be a fence between the bus area and anywhere the fans could be. I actually sat on top of the fence, first..

heh, climbed a fence? I'd have fallen off, lol!

I do remember hearing about one MCR incident; some girl who pretended to pass out, and while she was on a stretcher backstage, when the band walked by, you know, all concerned like, she jumped up and started trying to grab at them or something, lol!

*snickers* I still haven't even figured out who it was I shared a taxi with after warped, lol! All I know was there were 4 band members, they were from Colorado, and one of them had both his nipples pierced. Idk, lol, he was shirtless, and while I was in line for Cobra autographs, he kept walking right in front of me. I didn't know who he was, but it was getting annoying, because *everyone* kept walking by right in front of me to get past the line. I'm horrible with names/faces, too, so yeah.

The fence was chain-link, it was easy! I enjoy climbing up things...

Fans do stupid shit, end of story. I can't think of a single band from Colorado, so, probably not someone I know...

lol, I still would have fallen. :) not the most graceful person here, lol.

After some poking around, I think it was Single File; they were there at warped, and are from CO. :) They want to get a laptop so they can update their myspace and stuff while on tour, and that fits, except there were 4 guys, and the band profile only lists 3? I didn't see them play, so, yeah. No clue if they're any good, their myspace doesn't like my laptop, lol, so I can't listen to them there. They have out an EP, and their debut cd is coming out soon, I guess. It just says 'coming summer 2008'
